- The Seasons Of Grief: Chapter II - Poem III -

Every face in this city is a fleeting light,

Tonight I got to talk to you, and it felt just right

I try to not think about fate, but I’m thinking tonight,

How I wanted to kiss you so bad, and thought we just might

It’s strange how this world has taught me above love,

No paths to follow or ones to call my beloved

My best friend says I’ll find the one someday,

Now I sit here with you across me, all my fears laid

Last time I felt this, I was just a dreamer,

Scribbling poems on napkins, a silent believer

But now you’re here, black hair and brown eyes,

A true musician’s soul, with a voice that electrifies

I fell in love at 151 Coffee,

Where the moments blend like cream in a stream

It didn’t look this clear three days ago,

Now it’s bold, like your face’s courageous glow

Everything changes, this feels serene,

A cup of warmth a quiet, intimate dream

I’m in the middle of this bustling crowd,

When I see your smile, it’s all turned down

You’re strumming my heart with invisible strings,

A melody sparked in my writing and everything

We were strangers, now I’ve memorized your frame,

Something that I can never forget, now that we’ve played Taylor’s love game

The worlds softens as you speak my name,

And with you, coffee will never taste the same

I fell in love at 151 Coffee,

Where two paths crossed like star comets unseen

It didn’t look like this in my restless schemes,

How it worked out, in my wildest dreams

Everything changes, and what a thing,

To find a song where only you sing

And I’ll write to you:

“I’ve wished for you upon a million stars,

Painted your figure in all of my art

Saved a space for you at every dinner table,

Prepared my speeches for birthdays and anniversaries,

Just to show you how much you mean to me

I’ve thought about the one day where I’d give you a ring,

No regrets, never a second thought, to you, I cling

My dreams have all led to you, how funny is fate,

Stringing me along from Houston to Fort Worth and Dallas to show me my mate

We share so much in common, the book is so thick,

From coffee, to love, to humor and Taylor Swift

Take my hand babe, you’ve made me more of a man,

Growing old with you would make me the happiest in all of the land

For now, I’ll love you with all of my heart’s glee,

Cause I knew it from the moment I saw you at 151 Coffee”

This feels like fate’s design,

A voice memo for our souls to rewind

If this ends up in your song, let it reference me,

That I found love at 151 Coffee
