A Tale Of Two Hearts

- Betwixt: Phase II - Poem IX -

Tonight I’m here, completely,

I’ll give you my love, warmth, and kisses

You’ll provide yours so sweetly,

And not let there be something that feels missed

There’s a light behind your eyes tonight,

Reminds me of when I saw you for the first time

Will you brave the harder path,

To grow more in love with me?

Is this fleeting or a moment’s spark?

Will you still come over tomorrow after dark?

We could buy some cheap rosé at the local mart,

And write a chapter in our story of a tale of two hearts 

You say I’m all you ever need,

Though those words stay with me unspoken

This silence can’t secure my trust,

If promises end up broken 

When the night gives in to the morning sun,

Will you choose to stay?

Not in body, but soul,

I’ve got so much to say 

Is this permanent or a fading mark?

Will you still let me in after you see me in your yard?

We could buy some junk food at the local mart,
