Forget
- Rift: Part I - Poem VIII -
It’s been a month of our love blackout,
You seem to be doing good without me
No mistakes, worries, or doubt,
I’m healing my way, but I’m still missing that part of me
Did you forget all of what we did together?
If you did, I don’t know where I’d go
Did you let go of that invisible tether?
I’m still holding on, even if you’ve let go
I can’t fix this,
If you never face it
Just take my hand, it’s right here,
What if you tell me all your fears?
For now, we might be apart,
But I hope my presence heals your heart
It’s been weeks since we last talked,
I hope you're doing good, but part of me replays
When we first met and saw a movie after a walk,
The times we laughed and the times we cried
Don’t forget how I made you feel,
During times of tempest and times of joy
You told me I was your Achilles heel,
The one you waited for, my only boy
We can’t fix this,
If we never face it
Just take my hand, it’s open,
What if we heal what’s broken?
For now, we might be broke,
But I hope my voice gives you hope
I saw you in a different way where you shine,
Can’t we go back to that better light?
Where nothing was worth the fight,
Just come to me and cry,
And I’ll be there right by your side,
Even though you lied,
I’m right here still, waiting for you to come back
We can fix this,
If we just face it
Just grab my hand, it’s always been open,
We can heal what’s broken
Now we might be broke,
But I hope I’ll always give you hope
Just don’t forget
