Like A Movie
- Betwixt: Phase II - Poem V -
He,
Was just 21,
22-year-old me thought that things would come undone,
And I,
Pictured this all like a movie scene,
Ever since I saw him, he replays in my mind like a dream
He brushed my head,
I showed a smile,
And laughed aloud like a child,
We went up the creaky stairs,
Hand in hand, past the auburn flare
A paper lantern,
Lit up the October gloom,
He locked the door within the room,
We both took the bed,
And all those rushing thoughts filled my head
We talked too long,
The world felt far,
I asked if he played the guitar,
He was a musician of sorts,
He touched my arm,
And all my security mechanisms disarmed
I leaned in slowly,
He didn’t flinch,
How intimidating he was with only an inch,
Our lips then met,
So soft and warm,
But something deep inside felt like I’d just been reborn
He ran his hands,
Right through my hair,
I put my hand on his chest, right there,
He said,
“You’re a real good kisser,”
I smiled and said to him,
“You’re good too,” in a hushed whisper
The downstairs plays,
A Lana song,
We’re still taking too long,
A moment that meant the world,
It was so profound,
Kinda like a movie,
Two hearts found
